Berlin International Film Festival 1975
The Berlin International Film Festival 1975 took place from June 27 to July 8, 1975.
This year the Berlinale turned 25 and celebrated its silver anniversary. After years of struggling to get the GDR to participate in the Berlinale, the GDR Ministry of Culture agreed for the first time to allow films from the GDR to participate. Frank Beyer took part in the festival's competition with the film adaptation of the novel Jakob the Liar by Jurek Becker .

International jury
The jury president this year was the Briton Sylvia Syms . She presided over the following jury: Henry Chapier (France), Else Goelz (Germany), Albert J. Johnson (USA), Rostislaw Jurenew (USSR), Carlo Martins (Brazil), Ottokar Runze (Germany) and S. Sukhdev (India) .
