Bernhard Sinkel

Bernhard Sinkel (born January 19, 1940 in Frankfurt am Main , Hessen ) is a German director , writer and producer .

Life

Bernhard Sinkel passed the 1st and 2nd state law exams after graduating from high school. Then he became a lawyer. From 1970 to 1972 he was head of the archive and documentation of the magazine Der Spiegel .

In 1971 he founded the film workshop ULM (Independent Film Manufacture) in Munich with Alf Brustellin , Edgar Reitz , Ula Stöckl , Nikos Perakis and Alexander Kluge . Sinkel participated as an author and co-producer.

In 1975 he launched ABS film production in Munich and continued to work with Alf Brustellin. Her films were without exception oriented socially critical until Brustellin's death.

In 1986 he founded the Alcor film and television production community with Bodo Scriba . After differences of opinion with other co-producers about the design of the television film Hemingway , Sinkel withdrew. He made a name for himself as an opera director in the years that followed .

His archive is located in the archive of the Academy of Arts in Berlin.
