Berlin International Film Festival 1983
The Berlin International Film Festival 1983 took place from February 18 to March 1, 1983.
At the beginning of the festival, Rainer Werner Fassbinder , who died the year before, was remembered. His film composer Peer Raben performed a suite with the music for the director's films. Jeanne Moreau , who was also the jury president, sang her song from the film Querelle . The opening film of this festival was the comedy Tootsie by Sydney Pollack with Dustin Hoffman in the title role. The film was shown out of competition.
