Richard Bohringer (born January 16, 1942 in Moulins , Allier department , France ) is a French-Senegalese actor .

Life

After small appearances in Gérard Brach's La Maison (1970) and Claude Zidi's Ein insanrer Typ (1977), he became internationally known in 1980 for the role of the Gestapo man in the church in François Truffaut's film The Last Metro . He received his first leading role as Gorodish in the cult film Diva in 1981 , followed by Subway , Am große Weg , Catherine Deneuve's antagonist in Jean-Pierre Mocky's Agent Trouble , Jacques Richard's Hundred Francs for Love and the Cook in Peter Greenaway's The Cook , the thief, his wife and their lover .

He is the father of two sons (Richard and Lou) and a daughter, Romane Bohringer , who is an actress.
