Berlin International Film Festival 1972
The 1972 Berlin International Film Festival took place from June 23 to July 4, 1972.
Germany was looking forward to the upcoming Summer Olympics in Munich this summer . The International Forum of Young Cinema seemed to be establishing itself. Nevertheless, the contrast between the gala presentations of the competition and the discussion-friendly events in the forum was still immense. The film industry in Berlin got a larger platform this year with the International Trade Fair for Film, Tele and Audiovision, which took place for the first time on the exhibition grounds at the Berlin radio tower.
