Florestano Vancini

Florestano Vancini (born August 24, 1926 in Ferrara , † September 18, 2008 in Rome ) was an Italian film director .

Awards

His first film from 1960, La Lunga Notte del '43 ( The Long Night of '43 ) with Belinda Lee , Enrico Maria Salerno and Gabriele Ferzetti , won the prize for the best first film at the Venice Film Festival .

At the Berlin International Film Festival in 1965 he won the FIPRESCI Prize for Le Stagioni del nostro amore ("The Stations of Our Love") .

His film Il Delitto Matteotti ("The Murder of Matteotti") with Franco Nero as Matteotti and Mario Adorf as Mussolini about the murder of the socialist MP and anti-fascist Giacomo Matteotti in 1924 received a prize at the 1973 Moscow International Film Festival .
