The Taltal wind farm ( Parque Eólico Taltal in Spanish ) is a wind farm near the city of Taltal , Región de Antofagasta , Chile . It is located about 1550 km north of Santiago de Chile .
The wind farm went into operation in December 2014. It consists of 33 turbines with a capacity of 3 MW each . The average annual production is 300 million kWh . The total cost of the project is given as $ 190 million . The wind farm is owned by Enel Green Power , a subsidiary of Enel and is also operated by Enel Green Power.
