Windsor is a US city in Sonoma County in the US state of California . It has about 26,432 inhabitants (as of 2007).
About 2 km to the west, the Russian River flows in a north-south direction past Windsor. The city is located at the geographic coordinates 38.55 ° north, 122.80 ° west. The urban area has a size of 17.5 km².
From 1944, Camp Windsor was operated here for German prisoners of war.
