The Windwhistle Peak ( English for wind whistle tip ) is a cube-shaped mountain peak made of sandstone in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Allan Hills , it looms south of Punchbowl Cirque .
It was explored in 1964 by a team working in the Allan Hills as part of the New Zealand Antarctic Research Program . It named it after the whistling noises that the wind makes in the vicinity of the summit.
