Winfried Bischoff

Sir Winfried Franz Wilhelm "Win" Bischoff (born May 10, 1941 in Cologne ) is a German-British manager .

Life

Bischoff attended schools in Cologne and Düsseldorf before moving to South Africa in 1955 at the age of 14 . He studied from 1959 to 1961 at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg . He then went to Chase Manhattan Bank in New York for two years before joining the Citicorp Finance Division at the London bank J. Henry Schroder & Co Ltd in 1966. In October 1995 he became head of Schroders . Since May 2000 he was head of Citigroup Europe. In the same year he became a Knight Bachelor for beaten knight .

After the resignation of the previous CEO Charles Prince on November 5, 2007, Sir Win Bischoff was appointed interim CEO of Citigroup . On December 11, 2007, Vikram Pandit took over the post of Managing Director of Citigroup.

From September 2009 to April 2014, Bischoff was Chairman of the British financial company Lloyds Banking Group .
