Winfried Stark

Winfried Stark (born January 9, 1955 in Gerolzhofen ) is a German musician of popular hits . He is the founder and director of the Original Steigerwälder , a brass orchestra from Franconia .

Life

The son of a shepherd from the Steigerwald spent his childhood in the rural idyll of his home village Kleinrheinfeld . He discovered his love for music at an early age and received his first trumpet lessons at the age of ten and soon afterwards accordion lessons . While still at school, he was taught as an intern at the Würzburg Conservatory and later continued his music studies at the Nuremberg Conservatory . After completing his professional training, he became a teacher. During this time he played with well-known music bands and gained experience.

In 1977 the 22-year-old founded his own orchestra, the Original Steigerwälder , but initially remained in his profession. However, the orchestra's performances increased rapidly due to its increasing popularity, so he gave up his teaching profession. Under the motto Steigerwälder Bierzeltgaudi, the group organized numerous stage guest performances throughout the Franconian region and soon beyond.

In 1986 the Steigerwald took part in the first Grand Prix of Folk Music and achieved second place with their title We congratulate them . At the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1987 , the wind orchestra again took part with polka, polka, hoppsassa and reached 10th place.

The Original Steigerwälder are among the busiest and most successful bands of folk music today. They were and still are guests in numerous popular television programs.

Honors

The Original Steigerwälder have so far won five gold records and one platinum record . They were awarded the Hermann Löns Medal in bronze and gold for special services to popular hits .
