Life

Winoc's biography was written in the Saint-Bertin Abbey . In it he is assigned royal descent. Under Abbot Bertinus he entered the Saint-Bertin Abbey as a monk, which at that time was still consecrated to Saint Audomar ( Saint-Omer ). Bertinus sent Winoc to Wormhout to build a priory there. After his death he was buried in the founding of his monastery. His remains were later than relics of Bergues transferred , while the monastery in 1022 as the Abbey of Saint-Winoc had been transferred. The abbey church , which is now only in ruins, was consecrated to him. The parish church of St-Winoc in Plouhinec is also under his patronage . In Cornwall , St Winnow's church may be dedicated to him.
