Winold from Twickel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Winold von Twickel (* in the 14th century; † June 22, 1425 ) was canon in Münster .

Life

Winold von Twickel came from the Westphalian noble family von Twickel and was the son of Hermann von Twickel and his wife Jutta Sloet. He completed his studies in Bologna and was first mentioned in a document on July 18, 1394 as the canon of Münster. After Heinrich von Holstein-Schaumburg was elected Bishop of Osnabrück in 1402 , Winold received a papal promise to the cathedral priest in Münster, who had become free . In 1413, after the death of canon Heinrich von Solms , a Winold von Twickel received a papal commitment to a cathedral canon , over which there was a dispute with Dietrich Stael and ended with a lawsuit. Dietrich took possession of the benefice. Possibly they are different (same name) people. The fact that the Pope has awarded two preambles speaks against a person's identity. However, this is not absolutely certain.
