The Winston-Salem Mammoths were an American ice hockey franchise of the Southern Hockey League based in Winston-Salem , North Carolina .

history

The team started playing in the Southern Hockey League as an expansion team for the 1995/96 season . In their debut season, the Bullets reached the playoff final after a third place in the regular season, in which they were defeated by the Huntsville Channel Cats in the best-of-seven series with 1: 4 wins. After the season, the league was dissolved and the Winston-Salem Mammoths stopped playing. The only coach of the Mammoths was former Canadian NHL player John Anderson .
