The St. Petersburg Renegades were an American ice hockey franchise of the Sunshine Hockey League from Saint Petersburg , Florida .
history
The St. Petersburg Renegades began playing in the Sunshine Hockey League for the 1992/93 season as one of five founding members . In its inaugural season, the team started successfully, but had too low an average attendance to work profitably, since with the Tampa Bay Lightning at the same time a team from the National Hockey League was settled. After only 20 games, the Renegades stopped playing and the franchise was dissolved.
