WissWB-Hamburg
WissWB-Hamburg is the database of the Hamburg universities for further education and part-time studies. It is funded by the Authority for Science, Research and Equality and carried out by the University of Hamburg . The aim is to strengthen the higher education in Hamburg.
The state-recognized universities post their continuing education courses, courses and seminars as well as press releases and events here. The portal is managed and coordinated by the Office for Scientific Further Education , a central institution of the University of Hamburg.
Content
WissWB-Hamburg should enable users to search for further training opportunities at Hamburg universities. In addition, they are provided with further information that can be important for a decision to participate: the profiles of the institutions offering them, legal framework, financial support opportunities.
The institutions involved and all offers are subject to the primacy of the university, i. H. The advanced training seminars and courses of study are of the same content and methodology as they are at the university level, and the teachers are subject to the same quality requirements as teachers in the training course.
The offer on the WissWB Hamburg portal consists of the following subject blocks:

Project phase: 2004 to 2006
The portal was created within the framework of the model project “Joint Projects Scientific Further Education” of the former Federal- State Commission for Educational Planning and Research Promotion (BLK) , initially under the name WissWB-Portal . Under the leadership of the Office for Scientific Further Education at the University of Hamburg, a portal was to be developed that would enable users interested in university further education throughout Germany to conveniently search for suitable offers in scientific further education. The WissWB portal was Germany's only supraregional database that had specialized in continuing education offers from universities. The pages were first activated in November 2004.
The ideal sponsorship lay with the German Society for Scientific Further Education and Distance Learning (DGWF) , which was also involved in all major structural decisions.
National portal under the sponsorship of the DGWF: 2007 to 2013
At the end of the project phase in December 2006, the German Society for Scientific Further Education and Distance Learning (DGWF) took on the neutral sponsorship and thus responsibility. The organization and hosting of the WissWB portal was the responsibility of the Office for Scientific Further Education. The WissWB portal was aimed across Germany and was financed from contributions from the cooperating universities.
In 2010 the authority for science, research and equality of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg also took part . As part of a relaunch, she supported the development of a regional portal WissWB-Hamburg, which was initially run parallel to the existing Germany-wide portal and used its database.
Hamburg portal for academic further education: since 2014
After the DGWF withdrew from the WissWB portal on December 31, 2013, the Authority for Science, Research and Equal Opportunities advocated continuing the portal as a Hamburg portal for academic training and part-time studies. This was used to realign the content. The portal should serve the Hamburg universities as a common forum and promote information and advice on further education in Hamburg. The University of Hamburg took over the sponsorship of the portal. Under the new name WissWB-Hamburg , all state universities in Hamburg are represented with contact and profile information as well as state-recognized universities under private sponsorship (on a voluntary basis).
The cooperation with WissWB-Hamburg is free of charge for state universities. The portal is available to state-recognized, private universities for a small fee.
