The Diploma University , spelling: DIPLOMA , (formerly Diploma University of Applied Sciences North Hesse ) is a privately owned university (1998) that is officially recognized by the State of Hesse and is based in Bad Sooden-Allendorf . It offers courses in the fields of economics, law, health and social affairs, design and technology.

The story goes back to 1994 and was linked to the North Hesse University of Applied Sciences. The Diploma Hochschule - Fachhochschule Nordhessen was approved in 1997. In 1998, the diploma courses in business administration and commercial law were added as part-time distance learning and as face-to-face courses in Bad Sooden-Allendorf and occupational therapy and physiotherapy. From 2007 to 2010, a doctoral program was offered in cooperation with the Tyrolean private university UMIT in Hall in Tyrol. In 2008, the courses were switched from Diplom to Bachelor and Master. The study center in Hamburg was opened in 2012. In the 2014/15 class, a doctoral degree was offered in cooperation with the University of Latvia in Riga. There are currently numerous cooperation partners. Certificate courses in the IT sector have been offered since 2017.

All courses are accredited with the internationally recognized Bachelor or Master degrees from the accreditation agencies AHPGS, FIBAA and ACQUIN. This means that the degrees of the DIPLOMA University of Applied Sciences are recognized nationwide and throughout Europe and achievements in the European higher education area can be credited.
