The accadis Hochschule Bad Homburg (formerly International Business School Bad Homburg ) is a private, state-recognized university in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, Hesse . The carrier is accadis Bildung GmbH.
In 1990, the year it was founded, it was one of the first business schools in Germany to award bachelor's degrees in cooperation with American and British partner universities .
Since 2004 it has been state approved as a university of applied sciences by the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art , since 2007 state recognized. Werner Meißner was president from 2004 to 2016 . In June 2016, the long-time director of studies Florian Pfeffel took over the office of President.
courses
The university offers three-year bachelor's degree programs in international business and management with various focuses such as digitization, IT, sports, communication and tourism, marketing, event management or general business administration. The courses can be studied full-time or as a dual study. The university offers an extra-occupational bachelor's degree in International Business Management. It takes three years. All of these bachelor's degree programs lead to a Bachelor of Arts degree, the Business IT Consulting degree program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree. German and English are the language of lectures in the bachelor's program.
There are also subject-related master’s courses that are also internationally oriented and can be studied full-time, dual or part-time. They lead to a Master of Arts or Master of Business Administration degree.
The university also offers master’s courses in international management, marketing, digitization, supply chain management, sports management and health care management. In the master’s programs, the lectures are held in English.
Creation and cooperation
The university goes back to the FTO Bad Homburg Academy for Business Administration and Foreign Languages , founded in 1980 , which became a member of the Federal Association of Independent Schools in 1983 and a member and recognized training center of the ESA - European Schools for Higher Education in Administration and Management in 1985 . It was founded in 1990 as an International Business School , and in 1993 the first students were able to obtain a Bachelor of Business Administration degree . In 1997 the European Credit Transfer System was introduced in all degree programs, in 1998 a modular system with different study focuses.
The university maintains cooperation with universities in Great Britain , Finland , France , Spain , the Netherlands , USA , South Africa and China .
Accreditations
In 2002 the university was first accredited by the Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency. In 2004, the Bachelor programs were accredited by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation and the university was approved by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art , and in 2007 it was provisionally recognized as a private university of applied sciences . In 2010 the Science Council accredited the university for five years . Thereupon, on the advice of the Science Council, the university expanded its master’s program and its “insufficient research base”. The educational institution also increased the number of full-time professorships. System accreditation took place in 2014 . In the same year the university received the seal of approval for internal quality assurance from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation. In October 2015, the university was reaccredited by the Science Council for a further five years.
