The Private University for Business and Technology gGmbH, or PHWT for short , is a private university and vocational academy with locations in Vechta and Diepholz , which was founded in 1998. The seat is in Vechta.

history

In September 2014, the previously Vechta / Diepholz / Oldenburg University of Applied Sciences , or FHWT for short , was renamed the Private University of Economics and Technology Vechta / Diepholz / Oldenburg , or PHWT for short . The reason given by the school was that there are officially no more universities of applied sciences in Lower Saxony , only universities .

At the beginning of 2018, the PHWT course in Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering, previously taught in Oldenburg , moved to Diepholz with around 120 students. With around 2,000 square meters of usable space, the newly created space is around twice as large as the space previously used in Oldenburg. Since then, the university has been called the Private University of Economics and Technology .

courses

The PHWT offers dual courses of study in the fields of business administration , mechanical engineering , electrical engineering , mechatronics and industrial engineering . The courses conclude with a bachelor's degree .

In addition, the PHWT offers two master’s degree programs, management in medium-sized companies since 2015 (degree: Master of Arts ) and since 2018 the master’s degree in Systems Engineering (degree: Master of Engineering).

In 2006, the students with a focus on marketing organized a business congress for the first time , the North German Business Congress.

Libraries

Libraries whose holdings are based on teaching and study content are available at the respective locations. In Vechta, the university library is responsible for the full supply of the PHWT location in Vechta.

Others

The PHWT building in Diepholz is also the venue for the Diepholz Colloquium , where lecturers from the university and external speakers regularly give lectures that are open to the public.
