The Staatliche Studienakademie Bautzen is one of the locations of the Berufsakademie Sachsen and emerged from a polytechnic educational institution founded in 1827. Since then, more than 12,000 business and technical graduates have been prepared for the demands of the job market. A special feature of the training is the dual principle , which integrates the practical training content into the academic training. Scientific-theoretical and practical course content is coordinated in terms of content and organization. This link between science and business enables students to apply the knowledge they have acquired directly in practice. The following courses are offered:

entry requirements

  • an apprenticeship contract with a suitable company
(the staff at the study academy will help arrange company contacts. Current company lists for the respective course can be found on the academy's website.)

as well as one of the following qualifications:

Course of studies

The basis for studying at the academy is a training contract with a recognized practice partner. Apart from the fact that he usually pays a training allowance, graduates have a clear advantage when applying for a job. You already know the company processes and are therefore able to deliver billable results quickly. The practice partners themselves take on 80 to 100 percent of the graduates in permanent employment. In dual study programs , scientific-theoretical study sections at the study academy alternate with practice-integrated sections in the company, which ensures a better practical relevance. Studies always start on October 1st of the year. After just six semesters, i.e. after 3 years, the BA course can be successfully completed with the Bachelor degree. Those who leave the academy after three years have practical professional qualifications at university level. The high success rate in achieving the course objective results from the close ties between the students and their practice partners. The modularization and the award of credit points also make services internationally comparable.

Study funding

There are no tuition fees in Saxony . As a rule, students receive a training allowance from the respective practice partner. Studies at the vocational academy are also eligible for BAföG .

Study conditions

The reconstructed campus offers seminar rooms and lecture halls as well as laboratories for the students. Your IT infrastructure enables access to a wide range of applications and Internet resources. In addition to a cafeteria, there is a public, scientific specialist library on campus. As the official DIN standards display point, the facility has the entire current German set of standards.

history

  • 1827 Founding of the polytechnic school for craft apprentices, which with two teachers offers the subjects German, arithmetic, drawing, geometry, chemistry and physics free of charge.
  • In 1848, lessons were moved from the teacher's apartments to a school building on Wendischer Graben
  • In 1868 classes took place in the specially newly built community school on Lauengraben (later secondary school for girls, later Luther school).
  • 1875 Introduction of the general advanced training law of Saxony. The school thus developed into an advanced training school at the general elementary school.
  • In 1898 the school was converted into the “industrial and trade school” south of the Reichenturm in the former building authority.
  • 1938 brings the conversion of the school into the "technical and commercial teaching institutions".
The teachers now teach 2146 students (compared to 135 students in 1898). On the one hand, the school offers a 3-year training course as an “industry and trade school” and a 4-year training course as a “technical school for mechanical engineering and electrical engineering”.
  • In 1945, after the Second World War, the "technical and industrial training institutions" are combined with the general vocational school. In the following year the school was relocated to the building of the former rural high school in the Schiller facilities.
  • In 1950, due to the reorganization of the technical school system in the GDR , the "technical and industrial training institutions" are set up as evening schools for "technical training". In the following year, the day department for engineering studies for technical professions is added.
  • In 1951 the school was founded as a "technical college for mechanical engineering and electrical engineering" and, in addition to training as a technician, an engineering course was launched.
  • 1953 Renaming to "Technical College for Mechanical Engineering", completion of the boarding school (90 places) on Siegfried-Rädel-Str. 8th
