The University of Applied Sciences Clara Hoffbauer Potsdam ( FHCHP ) is a nationally recognized Fachhochschule ( University of Applied Sciences ) in the city of Potsdam in Brandenburg . The university is run by the Evangelische Hochschule Potsdam gGmbH . The university of applied sciences emerged from the previous institution, Hoffbauer Berufsakademie, which existed between 2011 and 2016 .

history

The previous institution was the Hoffbauer Vocational Academy. This was founded jointly by Hoffbauer gGmbH, Birgit Jank and the music school Bertheau & Morgenstern as Hoffbauer Berufsakademie gGmbH. The University of Cooperative Education started teaching in 2011.

The university was developed from the vocational academy. The Evangelische Hochschule Potsdam gGmbH was founded as the sponsor of this. In 2015/16 the university was examined by the Science Council and finally accredited . She was named Clara Hoffbauer (1830–1909), the founder of the Hoffbauer Foundation . At the University of Applied Sciences, dual courses of study leading to a Bachelor's degree were established in social fields of activity. The university started teaching in 2016. In 2019 Christiane Gerischer is the university president and head of the university.

Education

The degree to be obtained at the University of Applied Sciences is the Bachelor of Arts . There are no further master’s courses (as of March 2019) established. The duration of studies up to the Bachelor's is three years. In 2019, four practice-integrated dual study programs were offered:

FHCHP students are responsible for signing an apprenticeship contract with an internship institution, which must include an employment subject to social security contributions , an internship of at least 14 hours a week and a training allowance of at least 520 euros. The 520 euros correspond to the monthly tuition fees at the university of applied sciences. The university supports the search for practical facilities.

Locations

The university campus is located on the Hermannswerder peninsula , on which several educational and social institutions of the Hoffbauer Foundation are located. There are rooms for instrumental lessons in the music school Bertheau & Morgenstern, and studio rooms for dance lessons in the Potsdam wash house .

According to the statutes , its mission is to promote education, science and research. The Evangelical University of Potsdam is a subsidiary of the legally independent church foundation Hoffbauer Foundation, founded in 1901 and whose founder was Clara Hoffbauer. Other shareholders are Birgit Jank and the music school Bertheau & Morgenstern.
