The Evangelical University for Social Work & Diakonie is a private university in Hamburg sponsored by the Das Rauhe Haus foundation . It serves to train social workers , social pedagogues and deacons .

history

The educational institution was founded as a university of applied sciences in 1971, and its roots go back to 1834 , when Johann Hinrich Wichern founded the "Brüderanstalt".
