Vitaly Sergejewitsch Anikejenko ( Russian Виталий Сергеевич Аникеенко ; born January 2, 1987 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ; † September 7, 2011 in Tunoschna near Yaroslavl ) was a Russian ice hockey player . He last played for Lokomotive Yaroslavl from the Continental Hockey League .
Career
Vitaly Anikeenko began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Ldinka Kiev. From there he moved to Lokomotive Yaroslavl , for whose second team he was active from 2002 to 2007 in the third-class Pervaya League . In parallel, the defender came from the 2005/06 season for Lokomotives professional team in the Super League to use. For the 2007/08 season he first moved to Metallurg Novokuznetsk within the Super League , but returned to Lokomotive Yaroslavl after only ten games. With his team he was runner-up at the end of the season.
From the 2008/09 season Anikejenko was on the ice for Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the newly formed Continental Hockey League . With his team he was defeated in the KHL premiere season only in the playoff final for the Gagarin Cup Ak Bars Kazan with 3: 4 wins in the best-of-seven series.
On September 7, 2011, he was killed in a plane crash near Yaroslavl .
International
For Russia , Anikejenko took part in the junior division of the U18 World Junior Championships in 2003 and 2005 , as well as the 2007 U20 World Junior Championships . At the U18 World Cup in 2003 he and his team won the bronze medal and at the U20 World Cup in 2007 the silver medal. With the latter, he also had the best plus / minus balance of all players with +6 .
