Witali Vladimirovich Ivanov

Witali Wladimirowitsch Ivanov ( Russian Виталий Владимирович Иванов ; born February 3, 1976 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a former Russian handball player .

Career

The middle back player , who is 1.94 meters tall and weighs 92 kilograms , was most recently under contract with Medvedi Chekhov . Before that, he played for CSKA Moscow . With these clubs he played in the seasons 2000/01 to 2009/10 in the EHF Champions League , in 1998/99 in the Euro City Cup and in 2005/06 in the European Cup Winners' Cup .

Vitaly Ivanov scored 522 goals in 236 international matches for the Russian national team (as of January 2012) and was in the squad for the 2012 European Handball Championship . He also played at the 2004 Olympics , where he won the bronze medal with Russia, and the 2008 Olympics (6th place).

In the summer of 2012 Vitaly Ivanov ended his career as a handball player and then took over the coaching of Medvedi Chekhov's second team.
