Witold Stok

Witold Stok (born June 14, 1946 in Trani , Italy ) is a Polish cameraman. He is a member of the Guild of British Camera Technicians (GBCT) and an honorary member of the BSC . In his career he has a. a. worked with the directors Krzysztof Kieślowski , Marek Piwowski , Nicolas Roeg , Stephen Poliakoff and Paweł Pawlikowski .

Life

After studying at the State Film School in Łódź , from which he graduated in 1972 with a diploma as a cameraman, he initially made six short films between 1971 and 1980, some of which were short and short, under the direction of Krzysztof Kieślowski , who also studied in Łódź Documentary film festivals have received several awards. In 1981, Stock was awarded the prize for the best camera for the film “W biały dzień” at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdańsk . In 1982 he left Poland and emigrated to Great Britain. Here he was initially employed as a camera assistant for game and TV film productions. In 1992 he was the cameraman in Christopher Menaul's TV film A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia .

Witold Stock has shot 24 feature films, 25 TV feature films and over 50 documentaries in his career. He teaches at Arts University Bournemouth , Goldsmiths, University of London and Andrzej Wajda's Master School of Film Directing in Warsaw.
