Vyacheslav (Wetschӧ) Mikhailovich Gaiser ( Russian Вячеслав Михайлович Гайзер , Komi Вечӧ Миш Гайзер Večö Miš Gaizer ) * 28. December 1966 in Inta , ASSR of Komi , RSFSR , USSR , is a systems engineer and Russian politicians, who from January 15, 2010 was governor of the Komi Republic until September 30, 2015 .

On September 19, 2015, an investigation by the Russian investigative committee led to his arrest. Gaiser and 18 of his staff, some of whom were members of the regional administration, were accused of organizing and leading a criminal gang that dealt en masse with the theft of state property. The investigation was closed on February 2, 2017 and the charges dropped in March. Gaiser is considered a loyal Putin supporter.

  • In January 2010 he was approved by the deputies of the State Council of the region in the capacity of the head of the republic. On the same day he took over the position of governor of the Komi.
  • In September 2014, he was re-elected governor of the Komi with a record result.
  • Until September 2015 he was a member of the High Council of the United Russia party .
  • Detained September 19, 2015. The investigators arrested Gaiser at the airport shortly before starting a trip abroad. Other suspects, 19 in total, were arrested in Sochi , Saint Petersburg and Komi's capital, Syktyvkar .
  • Arrested on September 20 on suspicion of fraud and the creation of an organized criminal community.
  • On September 30, by decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, removed from the post of governor of the Komi in connection with the loss of confidence.

He has the Merit Award for the Komi Republic (2006), thanks to the Russian Ministry of Finance (2007), a certificate of honor from the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (2008), a certificate of honor from the Komi Republic (2008).

Personal life and family

  • Wife Natalja Gaiser, works in a department of state drug control in the Komi Republic.
    • Daughter Jana was born on June 22, 1992. In 2014 she graduated from the University of Surrey with a postgraduate degree .
    • Son Dmitry was born on February 5, 1994.
  • His father, Michail Iossifowitsch Gaiser, was in exile and a miner. As a Russian German , he was expelled with his family to a Siberian special settlement from Mykolaiv Oblast, Ukraine.
  • The mother Nina Nikolajewna Oboturowa came from Objachevo and taught chemistry and biology at the Inta school.
