Vladimir Fyodorovich Shushpanov

Wladimir Fjodorowitsch Schuschpanow ( Russian Владимир Фёдорович Шушпанов ; with the World Chess Federation FIDE Vladimir Shushpanov; born August 12, 1952 ) is a Russian chess player and coach.

Life

Shushpanov took part in several Leningrad city ​​championships. He won the championship of the Leningrad Chigorin Chess Club three times and was twice a champion of the local Trud sports association. In 1990 he was appointed Master of Sports of the USSR . After the borders were opened, he played in many international tournaments in Eastern Europe, especially in the Czech Republic . Because of his performance, he was named International Master by the World Chess Federation in 2002. His best rating was 2427 between January and July 2001.

After studying at the Leningrad Voznesensky Institute of Finance and Economics (specializing in economic planning), he pursued his profession for many years. Shushpanov has been working as a chess trainer since the mid-1980s, first in the children's and youth center in Kirov and from 2001 in the Moscow district. In 2000 he led the Russian team ( Alexander Ryazantsev , Evgeny Alexejew , Artyom Timofejew and others) to win the Youth Olympics in Artek . Among his students are Kirill Alexejenko , Daniil Linchevsky , Pavel Anissimow and Anna Duschenok.

His wife Nina Schuschpanowa (née Terentjewa) also plays chess. She was the winner of the youth championship of the Soviet armed forces. In 1985 she took third place in the Leningrad Women's Championship. In 2000, she reached fourth place at the Senior Women's World Cup in Rowy .
