Evgeni Wladimirowitsch Alexejew ( Russian Евгений Владимирович Алексеев , scientific transliteration Evgenij Vladimirovič Alekseev ; born November 28, 1985 in Pushkin ) is a Russian world-class chess player . He has been the Grand Master of Russia since 2002 and the Grand Master of Russia since 2012 .

Life

Alexeyev learned chess from his father, who also became his first coach. After moving to Saint Petersburg , Alexejew was trained by various master players. He is currently working with Sergei Dolmatov . After various successes in Russian and international youth championships, a second place in the St. Petersburg championship in 2001 and a tournament victory in Tel Aviv ( shared with Kostjantyn Lerner ) in the same year, he won 2002 (in that year Alexejew won the Alexander Petrov memorial in St. Petersburg, in Tolyatti and the Hoogeveen Open ) the title of Grand Master .

In 2004 he won the Geneva Open . 2006 Alexejew celebrated the greatest success of his career so far: He won the superfinal of the Russian championship in Moscow after a tie-break final in rapid chess against Dmitri Jakowenko with 1.5: 0.5. Both players shared first place with 7.5 out of 11 after the regular tournament.

In 2007 Alexejew won the Aeroflot Open in Moscow with a score of 7 out of 9 and at the same time received the invitation to the Dortmund Chess Days 2007, where he achieved an excellent shared second place (with Péter Lékó and Viswanathan Anand ) behind world champion Vladimir Kramnik .

National team

At the 2010 Chess Olympiad , Alexeyev played on the second board of Russia's second team. He took part in two European team championships with Russia , in 2007 he won with the team and achieved the second-best result on the fourth board, in 2009 he reached second place with the team.

In the 2014/15 season he played for TSV Schott Mainz , since 2018 he has played for the Düsseldorf SK 1914/25 , including in the 1st Bundesliga in the 2018/19 season. In Hungary, Alexejew won in the 2007/08 season with Csuti Antal SK. Zalaegerszeg the team championship.
