Vladimir Nikolayevich Sachnow ( Russian Владимир Николаевич Сахнов ; born April 25, 1961 in Kamenka , Aqmola ) is a former cross-country skier who started for the Soviet Union .

Sachnow made his first international appearance at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo , when he finished fourth over 30 kilometers. He finished eighth over 50 kilometers. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf in 1987 , Sachnow won his first medal - silver in the relay race with Oleksandr Batjuk , Vladimir Smirnow and Mikhail Dewjatjarow . Again silver with the relay comrades Smirnow, Dewetjarow and Alexei Prokurorow at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary . In the individual race over 50 kilometers, he finished twelfth.

Furthermore, Sachnow was three times national champion over 50 kilometers (1982, 1984, 1986) and twice with the relay (1986, 1987). In the World Cup he came second twice over 50 kilometers. He also finished the 1983/84 season in fifth place in the overall standings.

After the end of his active career, he was a cross-country skiing trainer in his native Kazakhstan and head coach of the national cross-country skiing team from 1993 to 1999.
