Wladimir Jurjewitsch Schtschekunow ( Russian Владимир Юрьевич Щекунов , scientific transliteration Vladimir Jur'evič Ščekunov ; born January 8, 1987 ) is a Russian track and road cyclist.
Vladimir Shchekunov began his career in 2006 with the Russian Continental Team Tinkoff Restaurants . In the 2007 season he won the first stage at the Gran Prémio Vila-Real and was able to win the overall standings. The next year he was first overall at the Vuelta a Segovia. At the Track Cycling World Cup in Cali , he won the team pursuit. From the 2009 season, Shchekunov will compete for the Lokomotiv cycling team .
