Vladimir Sergeevich Pecherin ( Russian: Владимир Сергеевич Печерин ; scientific transliteration Vladimir Sergeevič Pečerin , also Vladimir Petcherine ; born July 27, 1807 ; † April 29, 1885 in Dublin ) was a Russian scholar and poet. He was a graduate of St. Petersburg University and professor of Greek philosophy at Moscow University . He later became a Redemptorist . He is considered the first Russian political emigrant . Pecherin worked as a chaplain at the Mater Hospital in Dublin. His memoirs were published in Moscow in 1932 and in English in 2008 . Hearts reported in his memoirs, the Hellenist
