Vladimir Vasilyevich Andreev

Wladimir Wassiljewitsch Andrejew ( Russian Владимир Васильевич Андреев , English transcription Vladimir Andreyev ; born September 7, 1966 in Yamanchurino , Chuvashia , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian athlete .

The walker had his first important success at the Russian championships in Sochi in 1992. At the Olympic Games in Barcelona he was thirteenth in the 20 km walk for the CIS . The following year he reached 19th place at the World Championships in Stuttgart in 20 km walking. At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney Andrejew won the bronze medal in 20 km walking behind the Pole Robert Korzeniowski and the Mexican Noé Hernández . At the European Championships in Munich in 2002 , he won the silver medal. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he finished seventh.

In 2005 he was banned for one year for using salbutamol .

Vladimir Andreev was 1.70 m tall and had a competition weight of 58 kg.
