Vladimir Yordanoff

Wladimir Yordanoff (born March 28, 1954 in Chatou , Yvelines department ) is a French- Monegasque theater and film actor of Bulgarian origin.

biography

Yordanoff was born in France as the son of the Bulgarian violinist Luben Yordanoff (1929–2011). When the father got an engagement as solo violinist at the Orchester Philharmonique de Monaco, the family moved to Monaco and got the citizenship of Monaco. He attended the École primaire de Saint-Charles and the Lycée Albert 1er. After Charles Münch had hired his father for the Orchester de Paris , the family moved to Paris, and Yordanoff attended the Lycée de Saint-Germain-en-Laye there . He received his training as an actor at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique in Paris with Pierre Débauche and Antoine Vitez .

He started his career at the theater under Stuart Silk (* 1946), an American director who has worked mainly in France since 1971. Yordanoff made his stage debut in 1974 in a supporting role in Silk's production of Troilus and Cressida at the Théâtre de l'École Normale Supérieure , which was then shown at the Chaillot . Since 1979 he has appeared regularly in French television films and series. He had his first role in a movie in 1983 in Andrzej Wajdas with a BAFTA- winning film Danton .

In his career, Yordanoff has worked with renowned directors such as Patrice Chéreau , Alain Françon, Roger Planchon, Roman Polanski , Christian Schiaretti, Stuart Silk, Bernard Sobel, Margarethe von Trotta , Antoine Vitez and Andrzej Wajda.
