description

The three-storey residential and commercial building , which is now a listed building, stands on the north-eastern corner plot of the intersection of Hauptstrasse with Sidonienstrasse in the east and Pestalozzistrasse in the west. Designed like a closed development , the building was erected free-standing by its neighbors.

The corner is broken and is raised by a four-storey corner projectile with a four-sided dome. The building thus cites the appearance of the neighboring building to the south, Sidonienstraße 1, which was built about a year earlier . A balcony hangs in front of the upper floor of the corner facade, which covers and protects the shop entrance on the ground floor.

The building has a developed, slate-clad platform roof, illuminated by dormer windows. The ground floor, designed as a shop floor, shows large shop windows. The residential floors are empty.

In the simply plastered facade, which has since been reduced in structure, there are windows that are framed with sandstone.

In the district monument list from 1979, the building was part of the listed intersection of Ernst-Thälmann-Straße / Pestalozzistraße , together with the three other corner buildings ( Schillerschule , Ernst-Thälmann-Straße 8 and Sidonienstraße 1, which was demolished in 2011 ).
