Wojciech Żukrowski (born April 14, 1916 in Krakow , † August 26, 2000 in Warsaw ) was a Polish writer , poet , essayist and literary critic .

Life

Wojciech Żukrowski studied Polish Studies . After the war he was an officer in the People's Army and front correspondent in Vietnam in 1953/54 . From 1956 to 1959 he was in the diplomatic service in India . Żukrowski was also a member of the Sejm .

He wrote novels, short stories, children's books, reports and film scenarios that have been translated into numerous languages. Żukrowski made his debut in 1943 with the work Rdza .

At the request of the children, he received the international award as Cavalier of the Order of Smiles .
