Wojciech Kamiński (born February 27, 1974 ) is a Polish basketball coach .

Life

Kamiński, who studied at the University of Physical Education in Gdansk , began his coaching career in 2002 with Polonia Warsaw in the Polish first division. He initially held this post until his dismissal in December 2005 and led the team in the Polish championship twice to win the bronze medal. Shortly after separating from Polonia, he took over the coaching position at Turów Zgorzelec and held it until the end of the 2005/06 season. He returned to Polonia Warsaw before the 2006/07 season. His second term in Warsaw lasted until 2011.

From November 2011 he took care of Polpharmie Starogard Gdański , in November 2012 he was released. Shortly after separating from the Danzig team, he was hired as head coach by Rosa Radom in December 2012 . He stayed in office until 2018. In 2014 and 2015 he was named Coach of the Year in the Polish League. In 2016, he led Radom to the Polish runner-up and to winning the national cup competition. He also took part in the Champions League with the team in the 2016/17 season .

In the 2018/19 season he coached Stal Ostrów Wielkopolski's team and won the Polish Cup with them. He was also assistant to head coach Mike Taylor for the Polish national team and contributed to qualifying for the 2019 World Cup. In June 2019 he was introduced as the new head coach of the Bundesliga club Mitteldeutscher BC . At the beginning of November 2019, the MBC announced that Kamiński would take a break of several weeks to recharge his batteries. His assistant Aleksandar Scepanovic took over the job of head coach. A few days after the club announcement, however, MBC managing director Martin Geissler told the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung that the reason for the break was "mainly sporting reasons", that Kamiński was not ill, but that it was a "clear decision" by the club management. He did not return to the position of coach at MBC, because in mid-November 2019 the club signed Björn Harmsen  as a new man for the bank.
