Wolf-Dieter Dressler

Wolf-Dieter Dressler (born October 13, 1943 in Strasbourg ) is a German judge . Most recently he was presiding judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

After obtaining the qualification for judicial office, he worked as a research assistant at Heidelberg University from 1969 before joining the judicial service of the state of Baden-Württemberg in 1974 , where he was appointed judge at the regional court in 1970. Dressler initially exercised his judicial office at the Heidelberg Regional Court . From 1978 to 1981 he was seconded as a research assistant to the Federal Constitutional Court and from 1981 to 1982 to the Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe . Since 1982 he worked there as a judge at the Higher Regional Court.

From 1991 to 1992 Dressler worked as part of the support for the establishment of the judiciary in the new federal states at the district court of Leipzig City.

In 1992 Dressler was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice. The presidium of the Federal Court of Justice initially referred him to the VI. Civil Senate , of which he was a member until 2002, and since 2001 also as deputy chairman. From 1999 Dressler was also a member of the Senate for patent attorney matters.

In 2002 he was appointed presiding judge at the Federal Court of Justice and, associated with this, moved to the VII Civil Senate .

After reaching the age limit, Dressler retired on October 31, 2008.
