Wolf-Rüdiger Bretzke

Wolf-Rüdiger Bretzke (* 1944 in Stettin ) is a German logistics scientist, university professor, practitioner and consultant in logistics .

Life

Bretzke comes from a family of freight forwarders . After being expelled and escaping, the family settled in Krefeld (where they graduated from high school in 1964 at Moltkeplatz ). After graduating from high school, he trained as a reserve officer in the Bundeswehr for two years . This was followed by a degree in business administration at the University of Cologne , where he was accepted as a research assistant after graduating in 1971 with a degree in business administration . It was here that he obtained his doctorate in 1975 ( The prognosis problem in company valuation: Approaches to a risk-oriented valuation of entire companies on the basis of model-based success prognoses ) and in 1979 the habilitation ( The problem of decision models ).

From 1980 to 1991 he worked at management and board level in logistic service companies, of which the last four years were on the board of Thyssen Haniel Logistic GmbH . From 1991 to 1999 he built his own consulting company and managed it successfully. From 1996 to 2000 he held the chair for traffic management and logistics at the Faculty of Economics at the Gerhard Mercator University in Duisburg . From 2000 to 2003 he was a partner of KPMG Consulting AG , for which he, the just-in-time -Logistics than the area management supply chain as Solution has built and managed. After another two years as exclusive advisor for its legal successor BearingPoint GmbH , Bretzke joined the advisory board of the logistics specialist Barkawi Management Consultants , Munich , in October 2005 and served the company as Head of Supply Chain Strategy until the end of September 2013 .

He is a member of the Competence Network at the Kühne Logistics University (KLU) in Hamburg . The Bundesvereinigung Logistik e. V. (BVL) made him an honorary member for life after he left the board . On his 70th birthday he was honored by an international commemorative publication . He retired from active professional life at the age of 69 and has since worked in Krefeld as a freelance consultant for logistics and has so far also published two volumes of poetry. Since 2016 he has been a volunteer advisor to the Humanitarian Logistics Organization eV in Hamburg as a “logistics guru” . The WorldCat has 50 works by / about him.
