Wolf Dieter Ruppel

Wolf Dieter Ruppel (born January 5, 1933 in Hindenburg , Upper Silesia , † August 18, 2011 in Bonn ) was a radio journalist and editor ; he was considered the "spiritual father" of the radio broadcast ZeitZeichen .

Life

Ruppel had been a freelancer for WDR since 1964 . Then he came to the editorial office this morning , the later morning magazine . In 1967 the co-founder of the morning magazine also took over its management. Subsequently he was an editor at Midday Magazine . In 1972 Ruppel developed the radio show ZeitZeichen, a "trademark" of the WDR. He directed the show until his retirement on February 1, 1998. He also worked as a lecturer at the Ruhr University in Bochum and as a consultant at the House of History in Bonn. Ruppel was co-author of several books.

Wolf Dieter Ruppel died in August 2011 at the age of 78.
