Wolf Heumann

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wolf Heumann was a leader in the Bavarian popular uprising in 1705.

Wolf Heumann was an ensign in the Bavarian army of Elector Max Emanuel . Christian Probst reports that the uprising in the Schärding court started late; on November 17, 1705 , the peasants around Reichersberg had banded together and obtained weapons. Later the armed men of the northern courts of the Innviertel were called up . They gathered around November 25, 1705 in St. Marienkirchen , 7 km south of Schärding. There was a headquarters of the Landesdefension , in which Wolf Heumann was in command.

On December 18, 1705, under the command of Johann Hoffmann , Ensign Heumann attacked the imperial troops of Colonel Freiherr de Wendt in the Mühldorf am Inn area , thus breaking the Anzing armistice, according to Christian Probst .
