Christian Probst

Christian Probst (born December 7, 1935 in Munich ; † January 3, 1994 in Bad Tölz ) was a German medical historian and sociologist .

Life

Probst studied medicine , medieval and modern history as well as philosophy at the universities of Würzburg , Montpellier , Berlin , Vienna , Göttingen and Münster . In 1961 he was awarded a Dr. med. and in 1969 at the University of Göttingen as Dr. phil. PhD. In 1971 he was at the Medical Faculty of the University of Muenster habilitation . From 1972 he taught first as a scientific adviser and later as an associate professor in the history of medicine and medical sociology at the Technical University of Munich .

From 1974 to 1986 he was chairman of the Society for Fraternity History Research . He was a long-time member of the CSU .
