Wolfgang-Charles de Gingins (born January 25, 1728 in La Sarraz , † March 13, 1811 in Bern ) was a Swiss officer and Welschseckelmeister .

Life

Wolfgang-Charles de Gingins was the son of Joseph-Salomon de Gingins and Marie von Mülinen (grandson of Wolfgang von Mülinen and Anna Manuel). The Gingins were a noble family of the Vaud , which entered the Bernese civil law as early as 1523 . He inherited the Vaudois dominions Chevilly , Orny and Moiry from his father and married Elisabeth Tillier in 1761. He served as an officer in the French service. In 1764 he became a member of the Grand Council, in 1766 he was major in the Bernese militia and in 1769 he became governor of Trachselwald. In 1780 he was elected to the Small Council. From 1795 until the end of the city ​​and republic of Bern, he held the office of Welschseckelmeister.
