chronology
It's Never Been Like That Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix Bankrupt!

Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is the fourth studio album by the band Phoenix . Like the debut album United, it was mixed by Philippe Zdar .

Emergence

The title 1901 contained on the album was made available on February 23, 2009 as a free download on the band's website.

The first single on the album is called Lisztomania . The writer Heinrich Heine described the enthusiastic reaction of the audience to Franz Liszt's virtuoso piano playing as Lisztomaniac . Lisztomania is also the title of a biography by Ken Russell about the composer from 1975, starring Roger Daltrey . The song title Lisztomania is intended to express that the type of rock star has always existed.

The music video for Lisztomania was shot with reference to the historical title in the Richard-Wagner-Festspielhaus , a theater from the 19th century where the Bayreuth Festival takes place every year . Another unofficial video made famous by the internet platform Youtube shows dance scenes from the films The Breakfast Club , Pretty in Pink , Footloose and Mannequin, synchronized with the music . Impressed by this, the band called it their best video.

The song 1901 was also used in 2009 in the O₂ advertising for the Palm Pre .
