Wolfgang Beer (politician)

Wolfgang Beer (born April 2, 1959 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). He has been a member of the Federal Council since November 2007 .

education and profession

After elementary and secondary school, Beer attended the Higher Technical College for Electrical Engineering in Vienna from 1973 to 1977 . Then he went to the technical college for electrical engineering for two years .

Since 1980 Beer has been working as a civil servant in the postal and telegraph administration . In 1986 he passed the civil service promotion test. From 1991 to 1998 he was chairman of the ombudsman committee at the Central Telecommunications Office .

Political offices

In 1992 Beer became chairman of Section 11 of the SPÖ Favoriten , and has been a member of the district council there since 1994. In 1995, Beer became chairman of the transport commission. Since 2001 he has been on the board of the SPÖ Favoriten. In November 2007 he moved into the Austrian Federal Council as the successor to Peter Florianschütz .

Beer's work focuses on the Equal Treatment Committee, the Constitutional and Federal Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Private

Wolfgang Beer is married and lives in Vienna.
