Wolfgang Cartellieri (born October 5, 1901 in Heidelberg , † July 6, 1969 in Bad Godesberg ) was a German political official .

Life

The father was the historian Alexander Cartellieri . After studying law in Jena and Munich and doing his doctorate, Cartellieri worked in public administration from 1923 and was regional court director at the Erfurt regional court in 1939 . Between 1939 and 1946 he reports military service and captivity. Nothing is known about its denazification . From 1947 he was editor-in-chief of the magazine “ Der Betriebs-Berater ”, and from 1949 to 1951 a lawyer. In 1951 he came back to the public service as the 131 and was employed until 1956 under Ernst Wirmer in the Blank office or in the Federal Ministry of Atomic Energy.

From July 15, 1959 to October 31, 1966, Cartellieri was State Secretary at the various federal ministries responsible for research . Initially this was the Federal Minister for Nuclear Energy and Water Management , from 1961 the Federal Minister for Nuclear Energy and finally, from 1962, the Federal Minister for Scientific Research . Qua office he was also chairman of the administrative commission of the Science Council .

He is the father of bank manager Ulrich Cartellieri .
