Wolfgang Engelmann

Wolfgang Engelmann (born June 27, 1942 in Neuwürschnitz , Stollberg district ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

After completing secondary school in 1958 and an apprenticeship as a toolmaker until 1961, Engelmann worked as a pit fitter at SDAG-Wismut from 1963 to 1965. He did additional training as a miner underground, then worked as such for five years and graduated as a mining master in 1969. Until 1974 he made his studies in engineering and economics.

Engelmann later became district manager of the Stollberg district association of the CDU, which he joined in 1962. There he was local group chairman from 1979 after he had been a member of the district executive since 1965. In 1966 he became a community representative and council member in his home community, and from 1985 he was a member of the Stollberg district council. In the Bundestag elections in 1990 and 1994, Engelmann won the direct mandate in the Annaberg - Stollberg - Zschopau constituency and was a member of the German Bundestag for eight years .

Engelmann is a founding member of the Circle for the Promotion of the Mining Museum e. V. in Oelsnitz / Erzgebirge .
