Elena Mango
Elena Mango (born April 21, 1967 in Geneva ) is a Swiss classical archaeologist .
Life
Mango grew up in Geneva , Hamburg and Urdorf and studied classical archeology, art history and computer science at the University of Zurich . After the licentiate she was a research assistant at the Archaeological Institute of the University of Zurich Hans Peter Isler . In 1997 she received her doctorate . Since 2000 she has been curator of the archaeological collection of the University of Zurich, in 2007 she received her habilitation and was appointed private lecturer for classical archeology. Since January 1, 2011, she has been a full professor for Archeology of the Mediterranean region at the University of Bern .
