Dietrich Willers

Dietrich Willers (* 28. July 1938 in Rostock ) is a German classical archaeologist and emeritus professors .

Life

After completing his doctorate at the University of Hamburg (1966) with the dissertation On the Beginnings of Archaistic Sculpture in Greece , Willers worked from 1968 to 1972 at the German Archaeological Institute in Rome and Athens. He was later appointed full professor of Classical Archeology at the University of Bern . He has lived in Ostermundigen since his appointment at the University of Bern .

Willers' main research interests are ancient sculpture and building research. He is a corresponding member of the German Archaeological Institute .
