Wolfgang Ertel (computer scientist)
Wolfgang Ertel (* 1959 in Laufenburg ) is a German computer scientist and university professor.
Life
Wolfgang Ertel was born in Laufenburg (Aargau) and grew up in Leutkirch im Allgäu . He studied mathematics and physics at the University of Konstanz and received his doctorate in 1992 from the Technical University of Munich with the dissertation Parallel Search with Randomized Competition in Inference Systems . Ertel has been head of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence at the University of Ravensburg-Weingarten since 1994 . In 2006 he won the State Teaching Prize for Baden-Württemberg .

His teaching areas are mainly artificial intelligence , sustainability , robots capable of learning, mathematics , theoretical computer science and cryptography .
Research areas
His research areas include artificial intelligence , machine learning and intelligent autonomous mobile robots .
