Wolfgang Gassmann (born March 30, 1967 ) is a former Austrian football player and now coach .

Career

As a player

Gassmann began his career at SV Flavia Solva . For the second division he played in the first team from 1984. With the Styrians he got down from the 2nd division in 1990 . In 1994 he rose again to the second highest division with the club. In the 1994/95 season he made 27 appearances in the second division and 23 in the 1995/96 season.

For the 1996/97 season Gassmann joined the league competitor TSV Hartberg . For the Oststeirer he came to 13 missions in the 2nd division. After a season at Hartberg, he returned to Flavia Solva for the 1997/98 season, which had meanwhile been relegated from the 2nd division. After the club was relegated from the third division, he moved to the 1998/99 season for regional division FC Gratkorn . After half a season at Gratkorn, he moved on to SV Lebring in January 1999 . In the 1999/2000 season he played at SV Wildon before ending his career.

As a trainer

Gassmann trained from 2005 to 2013 in the youth of SVL Flavia Solva . In the 2013/14 season he was assistant coach at the sixth class USV Gabersdorf , and he also coached the eighth class second team. For the 2014/15 season he was coach of the sixth class SU Rebenland Leutschach . With Leutschach he became champion of the Lower League West in 2016 and thus rose to the fifth-rate upper division . In April 2017, he moved one league higher to the fourth-class SV Lebring , for which he had already played as a player.

Personal

His son Jan (* 1997) is also a soccer player.
